    What Is NNN?

If you've spent any time online searching chastity forums, you've seen it mentioned. No Nut November gets a lot of jokes, a lot of memes, and every year a surprising number of people who actually try it. So let's talk about how it works with chastity.

    What is No Nut November?

No Nut November (NNN) is a challenge to go the whole month without an orgasm ending in ejaculation, from November 1 to November 30. The only rule is no nutting (aka no cumming).

It started as a joke. The name first turned up as an Urban Dictionary entry in November 2011 and took off as a meme around 2017. By November 2019, the Reddit community built around it had grown to about 52,000 members, up from 16,500 the year before. These days some people do it to test their willpower, some do it with a partner, and some do it as a continuation of Locktober.

Every NNN, first-timers have questions: Does a wet dream count? (Most versions of the rules say no.) Is it no orgasm with ejaculation, or no touching at all? Some say you get a few free passes for the month. Our take: you get to decide, and if a partner's involved, you decide together. Just settle it before the 1st so you're not negotiating the rules halfway through the challenge.

    Using chastity as a tool

Most people try No Nut November on willpower alone, which means making the same conscious decision over and over, every day, for thirty days. A chastity device can take a lot of that pressure off your plate. You lock up on the morning of the 1st, and the decision's made for you.

That doesn't make the month easy. You still need a lot of patience, and some days will feel longer than others. But it's a big part of why chastity and No Nut November go together so naturally. If you lock up, it removes direct access to temptation. Many participants find the use of a chastity device crucial to making it through the entire month without nutting.

    From Locktober to NNN

Locktober and No Nut November grew up side by side in the late 2010s. Same basic idea: a month without ultimate release, except Locktober adds a chastity cage and often times a Keyholder. So if you locked up for Locktober, you're probably already considering No Nut November. Thirty-one days plus thirty is 61, which is a serious stretch of control, and plenty of people go for it.

If you're planning on participating in both months, give yourself a small break between the two (even if it’s just hours long). Unlock, give your chastity cage a deep clean, check your skin, and make sure everything still fits the way it should. Then lock back up when you're finished, or ready to get NNN started.

If November is your first time in a chastity cage, it's fine to start a few days late. Spend the first week getting used to it and adjusting the sizing if needed. Wear the chastity device for a few hours at a time, then overnight, then a full day, and increase the length of time you wear it from there. Get your ring size and spacers dialed in before you lock up for the entire month. If you need more help with the fit, our Sizing Guide walks you through it.

    With a Keyholder

No Nut November changes when someone else holds the key. It becomes something you're committed to together. If that’s you, sit down by the 1st and agree on the details and expectations. How long are you going for? When does the key come out for cleaning? How often will you check in? Will the wearer be allowed any free passes throughout the month? And so on.

How to stay in for 30 days

Thirty days is a long time to wear a chastity device and abstain from orgasms ending in ejaculation; add in that additional 31 days if you’re coming off of Locktober and you’re in a serious long-term lock-up. Be safe, be smart, and look after yourself with these tips:

    • Wash and rinse the device daily in the shower with warm water and mild soap, then dry it well.
    • Plan a weekly or bi-weekly full unlock to deep clean the device and your skin properly.
    • Inspect daily for unexpected redness, rubbing, or pressure marks, and adjust your fit if you see any issues.
    • Expect some discomfort from nighttime erections, especially in the first week.
    • If pain doesn't settle after consistent long-term lockup, unlock the device for sleeping going forward.
    • Remove your cage right away if you have persistent pain, numbness, swelling, or any discoloration. No challenge is worth a long-term injury.
